Chloe Langley
About Us Chloe Langley
I play music.
I grew up frolicking and probably dirty in the artistic soils of Golden Bay. Although I decided i would be a fantastic rock star by the age 3 my dreams did not get further than that untill i started playing the drums at the tender age of 9 (Leaving my piano teacher with her 'Oh when the saints come marching in' and lunged off into the world of noise and the sorry Mum, that you can't hear coronation st I'll be finished soon...).
A few years later I moved from there back to singing and began to write songs.
I spent much of my youth playing in bands with family members and competing in Rockquest competitions, the rock quest being a right of passage for any young kiwi muso. I wonder if i still hold the record for youngest female drummer at 11 years... If anyone knows, message me!
So thats my solid introduction into live performance. I have been writing my own songs for about 7 years, since I picked up the guitar and went on to study Vocals at the Nelson School of Music in 2004.

My vocals featured on Benny Tones’ debut album 'Earth Tones', released in 2005 under the label Fresh Produce. It gained national airplay and excellent reviews, with Real Groove magazine’s Phil Reed saying, "One of the real gems is the unearthing of the vocal talent of Chloe Langley, whose voice drapes over Benny Tones’ creations like mist shrouds the dawn in springtime, collaborating on Inner Reflections, Soul Cycles and Unified Rhythms." I have also recently collaborated with German producer Dj Shah for a track coming out on his next album in 2008.

I have recently moved back from Melbourne where I have been playing regular gigs around the city for the last year alongside the abundance of local Melbourne talent such as Blake Scott, The Grim brothers, Soft queenie to name a few, and also the occasional show with New Zealand’s Julia Deans (Fur Patrol) and Celia Church. During this time I recorded a five-track EP at Biscuit Brown studios in 2006. So with a track on triple jay it was time to pack up my stubbies and make the long treck home for some more study.
So here i am back in New Zealand. SICK MATE!

"Chloe Langley's exquisite songs capture and envelope you like cascading water. They are as soothing as they are unpredictable. Haunting melodies that lullaby you into their arms, while fierce undercurrents of intensely personal depth draw you willingly into a beautiful and fragile strength...

...Her Beautiful voice, Guitar abilities, tastefull arrangements and startelingly honest and humble performance distinguish her as a talent not to be missed."
